You don't have the time or resources to do everything. It's opportunity cost. You can either open a million doors on PC, or you can open the thousand on mac and only 800 thousand on PC.
That's basic econ. for every unit of costs you put in, you get greater gains on PC hacks/greater numbers affected. There is an opportunity cost on every decision.
I could use your example to say, why don't I get 5 million jobs work each for one hour on April 29th from 9-10 at mini...
That in my 5 years on XBL I have never once been sent a message crap talking me after a game.
I've been sent a few compliments though.
Developers can make dedicated servers on XBL, a lot of them just haven't. That's probably greatly attributed to the fact that M$ has built so many tools to get P2P (more resource friendly for developers, and probably why M$ supported that more) working in games. It's not like having dedicated servers is banned on XBL, it's just that developers don't want/need to.
Now, on PSN. The biggest issue with PSN is that Sony doesn't have a standard for online service. They pretty much sa...
Is the data backup supposed to be on some sort of microsoft run server or are they saying people will have servers at home for data backup, then have all their devices communicate with that server/PC?
Same company = M$
If you watched any of their CES keynotes for the past 3 years you can see how their designing a lot of the software being used in that video, and some of it is already available in limited features.
They already have software for PDAs/Cell Phones/Laptops/Tablets/Cars/TV s/Consoles and most of those already have a way of communicating at least a little with each other.
I was going to say the exact same thing...
So the thousand stop telling the million every 5 seconds how much better their security is?
Do I get a prize?
edit: @9.1, I think you missed his point. Why hack those 1 million macs, when you can hack 10 million PCs in the same time?
Reword that. It makes no sense the way you said it.
He didn't save the elephant. They killed it, and then he started fighting people.
Most broken limbs in a single fight scene though!
Yea. I really have a lot more fun getting randomly spawn killed and dying 10 times before I can actually get somewhere not in the line of fire where I can start actually playing the game.
Anyone who thinks having 60 people in an online game makes it good is an idiot.
Some games just weren't made to have 60 people. I can tell you right now, if Gears had more than 10v10 it would just turn into a bunch of people frag tagging and chainsawing each other.
Numbers don't, and never will make a game better. Some games work with 60 people (Battlefield) some games work better with less people (halo/gears).
So to retort to your querry: what are you going to do when Gears comes out with 5v5 and is still more fun than resistance with 60 pe...
I just don't think it settled into the gaming market yet. It hasn't had it's huge exclusives hit and that's when it'll happen.
Right now it's settled into the MEDIA market more than anything. Being the single cheapest Blu-Ray player all around the world is a great trojan horse to get your console in homes. The problem is it makes PS3's sales numbers EXTREMELY misleading.
They don't take into acount the number of people that were given the console for free with ot...
Doesn't a demo kind of defeat the purpose of prologue?
I will be watching this game.
Difficult entry level might hold the game back (if price doesnt?), but still definately gona keep an eye on it.
edit: also, is it really an RPG if you actually do all the stuff in the game?
I think she wants the ESRB to rate them, but use similar ratings to the MPAA. Personally, I think that would help a lot. People know a lot more what MPAA ratings mean compared to ESRB ones.
It would really help set apart more childish T games (PG) from more violent T games an M games that aren't any worse than PG-13 movies.
Xplay is better, the rest of the station sucks.
They should have sponsored tournaments since the beginning tbh. Endless supply of new content.
If they released madden every 3 years and made each one actually a step up/good, and released the rosters in DLC you would still save money in the long run. Would you rather pay $180 the way it is now, or pay 5 bucks every time rosters/stats are updated.
I think it would actually be cool if the stats of players were updated as the season moved on. Release a weekly roster update for optional download maybe? idk. Might make online suck. So maybe do a roster pre-playoff post playo...
Am I the only one who doesn't know if this is supposed to be news or a rant that pretty much everyone already knows?
This is what I gathered from the article: Madden should have DLC instead of new games.
If I didn't miss anything, no sh!t.
Have you never played halo? Each game brought something entirely new to the table that greatly changed both the way the game is played as well as the features.
Halo made console MP huge. Halo 2 added online MP and was one of the most streamlined online experiences ever on a console. Halo 3 was the first console game outside of sports to use replays, and the first console game to include a map editor. Each game also included massive engine and graphical improvements.
